Chris Ticas

Ticas is a visual artist whose main medium is performance. His work revolves around playing and it's deeply connected to comedy and the absurdity of daily life experiences. His artistic interventions take place in the public space (physical and virtual) through very small gestures that explore the urban landscape, social behavior and language, conceiving “everywhere as the playground” as Allan Kaprow pointed out in his essays on the blurring of art and life.

Chris is currently exploring the tension between his practice displayed in the American culture context, since he lived and worked in Guatemala for most of his life. His work has been shown in different countries in Latin América and Europe.
