Jakelen Diaz is a multi-disciplinary artist working in photography, writing, and print media. Their work examines the self, what it means to have a body that lives and dies, and how we relate to place, land, and other. Their art books explore form and multidimensional space, inviting viewers to enage with the work in physically intimate ways.
Jakelen lives in Portland, OR and works across the West Coast. They co-lead the Independent Publishing Resource Center in Portland, OR and recently served as the core instructor for the center's Portfolio Program Art Book track.
